Team Leadership: Team aspects, dynamics, and development
Changing the world with the right team! God has given each person unique abilities and gifts, that contribute to the spread of the kingdom of God. High-quality leadership is very important in the church, especially considering that most of the actual work is performed by volunteers working individually or in teams. One of the most central tasks of a leader is to call people into the right jobs and to empower them and lead them in those positions.
An effective leader must build his or her team with the goal to be reached and the necessary abilities to reach that goal in mind. There are natural tensions between pursuing a goal, respecting the team process, and honoring the personal growth agendas of each individual. These tensions need to be guided in ways that achieve the goal while facilitating the growth of strong team unity.
