What you will learn:

The course “World Religions” is intended to present the religious world outside Christianity, although the term “world religions” is by no means unambiguous from the point of view of religious studies. Mostly the religious communities with the largest number of followers in the world are called with it. Besides Christianity as the largest community (approx. 2.2 billion), these are Islam (about 1.6 billion), Hinduism (about 1.1 billion) and Buddhism (about 0.5 billion). Furthermore, Daoism and African spirituality will be considered in this course. Because of its special importance for the Christian world, Judaism is also the subject of this course. Furthermore, a short insight into the history of mission will be given.
