For some theologians, it is the natural ally of faith, for others a whore of the devil: reason. The fact is, however, that man is endowed with reason and also tends to use it. Accordingly, over the centuries there have been numerous attempts to determine the relationship between faith and reason, from proofs of God on the one hand to the complete separation of the two on the other.
